Contact Group supports disengagement of forces in Donbass — official
The Contact Group did not discuss OSCE armed mission in Donbass
MINSK, October 26. /TASS/. All members of the Contact Group have spoken in favor of disengagement of forces in Donbass and considered it as a decisive factor of trust, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine Martin Sajdik said on Wednesday after a regular meeting of the Group that strives to find a solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
"The Contact Group vehemently and decisively support disengagement of forces and view it as a decisive factor of trust. A full and comprehensive ceasefire would facilitate it very much," Sajdik said, noting that on Wednesday the security subgroup discussed implementation of the September 21 framework agreement on the setting up of security zones in three areas.
"The fact of withdrawal of forces and demining near Zolotoye and Petrovskoye was mentioned. The issues of disengagement in Stanitsa Lugovaya and in new districts were the focus of discussion as well," he said.
"The issue of the deployment of the OSCE armed mission was not discussed today," Sajdik added.
