Kerry says US considering to impose more sanctions against Russia over Syria
He said the United States and Britain are looking into the possibility to impose more economic sanctions against Russia and the Syrian government because of their operation in Aleppo
LONDON, October 16. /TASS/. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Sunday more sanctions could be imposed on Russia over the situation in Syria.
He said the United States and Britain are looking at applying more economic sanctions against Russia and the Syrian government because of their operation in Syria’s Aleppo.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday commented on the possible sanctions against Moscow over its position on Syria:
"The goal of these sanctions is not in solving anything but to contain Russia’s strengthening as a full-fledged participant of international activity.""This goal won’t be achieved," he stressed.
Putin reiterated his position that the sanctions policy is "counterproductive, harmful and never achieves the goal set by those who introduce these sanctions."
