Three Georgian parties win seats in parliament after general election
The Georgian Dream party is leading with 48.65% of the voteб the United National Movement is second with 27.12%, the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia has surpassed a 5% election threshold
TBILISI, October 10 /TASS/. Georgia’s Central Electoral Commission published the preliminary results of Georgia’s presidential elections on party tickets after data from 3,700 polling stations (99.95% of the total number of polling stations) had been processed. According to the figures published at the Central Electoral Commission’s website, the Georgian Dream party is leading with 48.65% of the vote and the United National Movement (Georgia) is second with 27.12%.
The bloc of David Tarkhan-Mouravi, Irma Inashvili - the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia has surpassed a 5% election threshold and has the right to enter parliament. The Central Electoral Commission will be able to announce preliminary vote results on party tickets upon receipt of the vote count results from two more polling stations.
On October 8, Georgian voters elected 150 deputies, including 77 on party tickets and 73 in single-mandate constituencies, to the Georgian parliament. The Central Electoral Commission announced on October 9 that runoff elections would take place in approximately 50-53 single-mandate constituencies on November 2.
