Premier: New Armenian Cabinet ready to develop cooperation with Russia

YEREVAN, October 4. /TASS/. Armenia’s Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan has confirmed that the country’s new government is prepared to take steps necessary for developing trade and economic cooperation with Russia.

"The Armenian-Russian allied and friendly relations have a solid foundation, and bilateral cooperation is developing steadily in all areas," the prime minister said while receiving Russian Ambassador, Ivan Volynkin.

"Russia is Armenia’s main economic partner," Karapetyan noted. He pointed to "the importance of further development and expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries." The premier confirmed that "the Armenian government is ready to take necessary steps in this direction," all the more so because "there is a huge potential for the implementation of new programs, constant growth in the volume of trade."

While congratulating Karapetyan on his appointment as prime minister, the ambassador said he was ready to assist in the implementation of joint undertakings.
