Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said he will gather representatives of all political forces in the country "to agree on further actions"

BOGOTA, October 3. /TASS/. The peace deal reached by the Colombian government and FARC rebels on August 29 remains in force despite the fact that opponents of the deal won at the country’s referendum, President Juan Manuel Santos said on Monday.

"I called you so that you decide whether you support the agreement on ceasing the armed conflict with FARC, and the majority said ‘no’, though only by a minimum margin," Santos said admitting the defeat of supporters of the deal at the referendum.

"As a head of state, I am a guarantor of stability in the country. The ceasefire regime (between the Colombian government and FARC rebels) remains in force," the president added noting that he will gather representatives of all political forces in the country "to agree on further actions."
