Hungary’s referendum on EU migrant quotas recognized as invalid

Voter turnout at the referendum was below 50 percent

VIENNA, October 2. /TASS/. Hungary’s referendum on the European Union’s migrant quotas has been recognized as invalid as the voter turnout was below 50 percent, Hungary’s national election commission said on Sunday.

After counting 98.82 percent of ballots, the vote turnout reached 3.2 million people while a turnout of 4.5 million was needed to recognize the referendum as valid.
