According to US State Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner, reports of incidents are received from both sides of the conflict

WASHINGTON, September 16. /TASS/. The regime of cessation of hostilities in Syria is violated by forces of the opposition, which is supported by the United States, as well, US State Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner said at a daily press briefing.

"We continue to receive reports of incidents from both sides. And by both sides I mean both sides - that includes the regime," Toner said.

"And obviously, both we and - both the United States and Russia have to do all we can do to further pressure or influence the respective parties to this cessation of hostility to reduce these incidents," he said.

"But we still believe that, by and large, the cessation of hostilities is holding, it’s not perfect. We expected a somewhat uneven start to this, but from what we’ve seen so far, and what I said yesterday is it’s worth continuing," Toner said.

According to a report voiced earlier by Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov, US-controlled opposition intensifies shelling of residential quarters in Syria, while the regime of cessation of hostilities is only observed by the army.
