Putin, Abe to meet in Japan in December — media
The meeting is to take place in Japan's Yamaguchi Prefecture on December 15
TOKYO, September 2. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Japan in December to hold meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Yamaguchi Prefecture, NHK television reported on Thursday.
According to this TV network, an agreement on the issue has been reached at a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin press service has informed TASS that the agreements concern only the fact that the visit will take place "before the end of this year."
Abe said earlier on Friday that he would like to invite the Russian leader to visit his native Yamaguchi Prefecture. "If it is possible, I would like to invite Putin to my native Yamaguchi Prefecture," Abe noted. "I would like to hold substantive dialogue with him there."
The meeting is to take place on December 15.
