DPR militia report 3,000 cases of shelling over past week
Fourteen people were killed in the shelling over the week
KIEV, August 26 /TASS/. The head of the operational command of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Sinenkov, claims the Ukrainian military have shelled the territory of the republic 3,004 times over the past week, damaging 202 houses in several populated localities.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces have shelled populated localities in the DPR 3,004 times over the past week using weapons banned by the Minsk agreements in 2,518 attacks," the Donetsk news agency quoted Sinenkov as saying.
Sinenkov added that intensive artillery attacks had damaged and destroyed 202 houses in the villages of Zaitsevo, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya, Dokuchayevsk and Kominternovo as well as the Kiyevskoye, Kirovskoye and Petrovskoye neighborhoods of Donetsk.
The press service of DPR human rights commissioner Daria Morozova has reported that fourteen people were killed in the shelling over the week.
"Between August 20 and August 26, 14 people were killed on the republic’s territory as a result of Ukraine’s aggression. Among them were 11 servicemen and three civilians," the press service said.
One civilian has gone missing over the past week.
Since the beginning of the conflict a total of 4,188 people have been killed in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the latest data.
