DPR militia source reports civilian wounded in Kiev forces’ shelling
A total of 117 artillery shells were fired
DONETSK, August 9. /TASS/. A civilian man was wounded late on Monday as Kiev forces shelled the western suburb of Donetsk and Yasinovataya from heavy armaments, a law enforcement source in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic told the Donetsk news agency.
The Ukrainian side started shelling Yasinovataya from 122m armaments at 8.30 p.m. local time. Three hours later the Ukrainian units shelled Staromikhaylovka from 152mm weapons. "A total of 117 artillery shells have been fired," the agency reported.
The Ukrainian army also used 82mm and 120mm mortars, the source said. The villages of Aleksandrovka and Trudovskiye in western Donetsk, Panteleymonovka and Zytsevo near Gorlovka, Krutaya Balka and Vasilyevka near Yasinovataya, Sakhanka, Leninskoye and Kominternovo in the southern DPR came under fire.
Three houses were damaged and a local citizen was hospitalized in Novoazovsk with multiple shrapnel wounds, the source said.
The participants of the Contact Group on settling the crisis in eastern Ukraine agreed to observe the silence regime starting from midnight on April 30. This is the eighth ceasefire agreement since the autumn of 2014. However, the Ukrainian army has repeatedly violated the truce.
