Ukrainian radicals block Russian agency in Kiev — source
About 30 people burst into the building under the pretext that Ukrainian liberal laws allow deputies of local councils to enter any building
KIEV, July 7 /TASS/. Radicals from Ukraine’s nationalist Svoboda party have blocked the building of the Russian Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation in Kiev, a source at the Russian embassy in Ukraine told TASS.
"About 30 people burst into the building under the pretext that Ukrainian liberal laws allow deputies of local councils to enter any building unhindered. They mounted to the second floor and occupied a room where Academician Pyotr Tolochko was about to present his book titled "Where does the Russian Land Come from?" the embassy source said.
The presentation ceremony was thwarted. The Svoboda radicals said Tolochko was anti-Ukrainian and branded him the enemy of the Ukrainian state.
A group of nationalists from the Svoboda (Freedom) party led by Kiev City Council Deputy Igor Miroshnichenko had organized the attack. Police have arrived at the scene.
