KIEV, May 20. /TASS/. Around 5,000 protestors of Ukraine’s Azov voluntary battalion gathered outside the parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, on Friday urging the Kiev authorities not to carry out local elections in Donbass envisaged by the Minsk peace agreements.
The protesters marched from the Motherland Monument in the Ukrainian capital to Constitution Square outside the parliament. Traffic on a number of central streets has been blocked.
They throw smoke bombs and firecrackers at the Rada building chanting nationalist slogans. The National Guard officers and police are monitoring the march but have not interfered.
The march has not interrupted the session of Ukrainian MPs.
