Syrian Kurdistan envoy to Russia Rodi Osman says the Syrian Kurds, the largest ethnic minority in the country, have not yet received an invitation to take part in the next round of talks in Geneva

MOSCOW, May 16. /TASS/. The Syrian Kurds, the largest ethnic minority in the country, have not yet received an invitation to take part in the next round of talks in Geneva, Rodi Osman, the Syrian Kurdistan envoy to Russia told TASS on Monday.

"The isolation of the Kurds from discussing the country’s future and their exclusion from the talks does not help to resolve the Syrian crisis," Osman said. "It is impossible to solve the Syrian crisis and achieve success at talks in Geneva without the participation of representatives of all social groups of the country, including the Kurds," he stressed.

"The Syrian Kurds are ready to back international and Russia’s efforts aimed at solving the Syrian political crisis through dialogue," Osman said, adding that he values the position of Moscow that insists on the participation of the Kurds and all the Syrian sides in discussing Syria’s future.

Syria has two options of development - either the continuation of the conflict and the division of the country or the creation of a secular democratic system where all the representatives of the Syrian people will live in conditions of freedom and respect.
