MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. Ukrainian border guards have denied access for Darya Grigorova, a reporter working for the Russian state-run television corporation VGTRK, after she had arrived in Kiev from Riga, she said on the Rossiya 24 channel on Saturday.

"At about 7 pm I was detained at the border checkpoint (at the airport) without any reason," she said. "At once my passport was copied. I was taken to a special room and was handed a decision in Ukrainian," Grigorova said. "They failed to explain anything sensibly but said Ukraine’s Security Service’s department for the Dnepropetrovsk region had ruled to deny access for me."

"There was an impression that the border control officers did not know what to do with me," she went on to say. "They were trying to escort me with my suitcase to the departure area but then it turned out I was not allowed to go there."

By the time of reporting, the Russian journalist had received her passport back and now is awaiting a border control officer.

"About two hours ago I was told that a border control officer would come for some sort of a talk about the time and destination of my flight," she said. "Evidently, I will take a flight to Riga, from where I arrived."

This is far from the first situation of the kind involving Russian journalists in Ukraine. Thus, Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, told a briefing on April 21 that in the year 2015 seven Russian journalists were deported from Ukraine, accreditations to the state bodies were suspended for 115 Russian media and four Russian television channels were blacklisted.
