Trump and Clinton win primaries in Arizona

Donald Trump is estimated to have received 45.4% of votes and the former US Secretary of State Clinton is leading with 60.3% of votes

NEW YORK, March 23. /TASS/. Billionaire Donald Trump has won the Republican primary in Arizona.

After 38% of ballots were counted, Trump is estimated to have received 45.4% of votes. He is followed by Senator from Texas Ted Cruz with 20.2% of votes and Ohio Governor John Kasich with 10.8% of voted.

The Utah caucus is still underway. The results of the Arizona primary and Utah caucus will determine who 98 delegates (58 from Arizona and 40 from Utah) will support at the Republican National Convention that will take place in the state of Ohio in the summer.

According to recent polls, people in Arizona support Trump more than his rivals — Ted Cruz and John Kasich. Polls were closed an hour later because of the unexpectedly high voter turnout.

Former US State Secretary Hillary Clinton has won Democratic primary in Arizona, CNN reported on Wednesday.

After 51% of ballots were counted, Clinton is leading with 60.3% of votes, followed by Senator Bernie Sanders with 37.1% of votes.

Caucasus in Idaho and Utah are still underway. A total of 149 delegates (85 from Arizona) are at stake as they will go to the Democratic National Convention where a Democratic presidential candidate will be named.

According to the latest poll conducted by Merrill Poll, 50% of Democratic voters are ready to support Clinton while 24% said they will vote for Sanders. In order to become a presidential candidate from the Democratic party, either Clinton or Sanders should get the votes of 2,383 delegates. Clinton currently holds 1,656 votes, Sanders - 877.
