Russian investigators’ report on A321 crash handed over to Egyptian prosecutors

CAIRO, March 17. /TASS/. Egyptian investigators have received from Russia’s Investigative Committee a report regarding the crash of the Russian A321 in the Sinai Peninsula on October 31 last year and handed it over to the Prosecutor-General’s Office, the Egyptian Civil Aviation Ministry has said in a statement obtained by TASS.
"On March 14 the panel of inquiry probing into the air disaster has received a formal report form the Russian Investigative Committee," the Civil Aviation Ministry said. "After the report containing a criminal version of the airliner’s crash has been studied the case was transferred to Egypt’s Prosecutor-General."
As the head of the Egyptian investigative committee Ayman al-Mukaddam has said "it was done with in framework of completing official investigative actions."
Certain procedures have been completed since the preliminary report on the circumstances of the air disaster was published on December 13, 2015.
In particular, all fragments of the plane had been brought to the territory of the Cairo international airport.
"Our main task was to move all fragments of the plane for the purpose of the subsequent thorough examination," he said. Officials from the Egyptian Prosecutor-General’s Office and Russia’s Investigative Committee oversaw the debris’ transportation.
