Train accident in Germany leaves 4 dead, terror attack version not considered
Around 100 people were injured, 50 of them sustained severe injuries
BERLIN, February 9. /TASS/. At least four people have been killed and around 100 others injured in the collision between two trains near the town of Bad Aibling in Germany’s Bavaria federal state, a spokesman for Rosenheim city police told TASS on Tuesday. He refuted media reports saying that eight people had been killed.
"Of the 100 victims, 50 sustained severe injuries, 4 people were killed," he said. Earlier reports said that 10 people had been seriously injured.
According to the law enforcement agencies, a news conference will be given at 12:00 (14:00 Moscow Time) where reporters will be briefed on the accident.
Meanwhile, the federal police told TASS that the terrorist attack version was not considered. "No, we are not considering a link between the two trains’ collision and terrorist activity," the police said.
