TEHRAN, February 2. /TASS/. Iran should do everything within its capabilities to help scale down the tensions that have sprung up in relations between Russia and Turkey, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday as he spoke live on the IRINN television channel in connection with the beginning of the Fajr period (February 1 to February 11) that ends with celebrations of an anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
"We have very good relations with Russia and with Turkey likewise and it's a highly saddening thing that a crisis has broken out in relations between these two countries," Rouhani said. "Now we should do everything in our power to help the decrease of those tensions."
"A further aggravation of the situation doesn't meet the interests of either of the two countries," Hassan Rouhani said.
