WARSAW, January 25. /TASS/. Polish member of the European Parliament and leader of the KORWiN political party Janusz Korwin-Mikke has described as nonsense the behavior of the Ukrainian parliamentarians who decided to leave the Europe-Ukraine forum underway in the city of Lodz because of the presence of their opponents there.

"I do not understand the reasons. This is nonsense, as there is no point to talk only with their supporters," Korwin-Mikke told TASS on Monday.

"That was not a political debate but the talk about how entrepreneurs should cope with the conditions that emerged in Ukraine. I did not make any political statements," he said.

Korwin-Mikke suggested that the Ukrainian lawmakers’ attitude towards him could stem from his stance on Crimea. "I said as early as 25 years ago that Crimea should belong to Russia," he said. "They need to realize at last that no one will give Crimea back to them." "The overwhelming majority of the peninsula’s population do not want to go back. I have been to Crimea myself and talked to people in the street," the Polish politician said.

According to Ukrainian media, members of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Yegor Sobolev and Tatiana Chernovol boycotted on Sunday one of the panel discussions of the Europe-Ukraine forum in Lodz due to the participation of Janusz Korwin-Mikke who is persona non grana in their country. Verkhovna Rada deputy speaker Oksana Syroid said the Ukrainian side had some claims against the organizers of the forum, as they invited "well-known provocateurs", including from Russia, to take part in it.

The organizers of the forum from the Polish Institute of Oriental Studies have not yet commented on the incident.
