Russian mission to UN confirms Russia-US-UN meeting on Syria on Januaty 13

Russia will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, the United States - by Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Anne Patterson, and the UN - by Staffan de Mistura

GENEVA, January 11. /TASS/. Russia’s permanent mission at the Geneva-based office of the United Nations has confirmed that a meeting on Syrian settlement in the format Russia-US-UN will be held in Geneva on January 13.

"Such a meeting will be held on January 13," Maria Khodynskaya-Golenishcheva told TASS on Monday.

Russia will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, the United States - by Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Anne Patterson, and the United Nations - by U.N. Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.

The previous meeting in such format was held in Geneva on December 11, 2015. It was held at the United States’ mission.

The venue of the forthcoming meeting is not disclosed due to security considerations.
