Situation is unstable and Ukraine may do repair work on only one line of the high-voltage power line bringing electricity to Crimea due to security problems, Arsen Avakov says

KIEV, November 23. /TASS/. The situation in Ukraine’s Kherson region where the pylons of a high-voltage power line bringing power to Crimea have been blown up remains unstable, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov told a Cabinet meeting on Monday.

"The situation in the Kherson region cannot be called stable," he said.

That is why, according to Avakov, Ukraine may do repair work on only one line of the high-voltage power line due to security problems.

"Repair work may only be carried out on one line of "Kakhovka-Titan. We cannot do repair work on other lines until we conduct a thorough inspection to make sure there are no more explosive devices there. And we do have such information," he said.

The Ukrainian interior minister suggested considering information about the preparation of terrorist attacks on the country’s facilities in the Security and Defense Council. "I confirm the information provided by the SSU [the State Security Service of Ukraine]. I ask to consider this issue at a meeting of the country’s State Security Service," the minister said.
