Ukraine’s Sukhoi-25 attack aircraft crashed during a training flight near Zaporizhia on Wednesday morning

KIEV, November 11. /TASS/. Wednesday morning’s crash of the Sukhoi-25 attack aircraft near the city of Zaporizhia followed the plane hitting a high-voltage power line, Ukraine’s military prosecutor, Anatoly Matios has said.

"According to the preliminary findings by a group of military prosecutors the plane hit a high-voltage power line at a low altitude to crash near the village of Ternovka, the Zaporizhia Region, 255 kilometers away from the Kharkiv-Simferopol road," Matios said in the social network Facebook.

The plane was performing a training flight. It was carried no ammunition. The pilot, y.o.b. 1992, died.

Su-25 is a Russian strike-fighter designed to provide close air support for ground units amid direct vision of the target, as well as to destroy objects with specified coordinates in any weather conditions.
