Unknown assailant throws incendiary devices at US embassy in Tashkent
An investigation on the event is underway and the US Embassy is cooperating with local authorities
TASHKENT, September 29. /TASS/. The US embassy in the capital of Uzbekistan has been attacked by an unknown assailant, who threw incendiary devices at the diplomatic mission, the embassy said in a statement.
"At approximately 7:30 am (local time) on Monday, September 28 an unidentified assailant tossed two improvised incendiary devices on to embassy grounds. One of the incendiary devices exploded. Immediately following the explosion the embassy went on lockdown. No one was injured in the blast," the embassy said.
"The embassy is no longer on lockdown and is open for business. At this time there is no specific threat information against Americans and/or American interests. Visitors to the US Embassy will notice an increased security presence as a result of this event," it said.
