MOSCOW, September 26. /TASS/. Ukraine’s army has shelled from a tank a residential area in the city of Gorlovka in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic [DPR], the city administration said Saturday.

"Yesterday a tank fired twice on the 88th quarter at 22:05. Two explosions were heard. There are no victims or destruction," the administration told the Donetsk News Agency.

The shelling was presumably led from the direction of the inhabited locality of Mayorsk, where Ukrainian servicemen have their positions.

According to data of local authorities of other DPR localities along the disengagement line, the night in Donetsk, Dokuchayevsk, as well as in the Yasinovataya, Novoazovsk, Telmanovo and Starobeshevo districts was without violations of the "silence regime".

In line with an agreement reached at talks in Minsk, from September 1, there has been a complete cessation of fire at the disengagement line in Donbass. Kiev grossly violated the truce overnight to September 5, when it shelled the village of Alexandrovka in the city of Donetsk killing one civilian and leaving two others wounded.

Ukrainian troops have been engaged in fierce fighting with local militias during Kiev’s punitive operation, underway since mid-April 2014, against the breakaway territories - the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics constituting parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine.

Massive shelling of residential neighborhoods, including with the use of aviation, has killed thousands and led to a humanitarian disaster in Donbass.

Kiev has regularly violated the ceasefire regime imposed as part of the Package of Measures on implementation of the September 2014 Minsk Agreements.

The Package [Minsk-2] was signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarusian capital Minsk by participants of the Contact Group on settlement in Donbass.

The Package, earlier agreed with the leaders of the Normandy Four [Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine] envisioned an overwhelming cessation of fire and withdrawal of heavy armaments to create a security area in the region at least 50 kilometers wide.
