Poroshenko: Four political forces to remain in Ukraine's parliament coalition

Attempts by Radical Party, who earlier withdrew from the coalition and went into opposition, to break up the coalition have ended in a fiasco, Ukrainian president says

KIEV, September 8. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that four factions will remain in the parliamentary coalition.

"Attempts by one political force to break up the coalition have ended in a fiasco," he told a government meeting on Tuesday, adding that four political forces — the factions People’s Front, Petro Poroshenko Bloc, Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) and Samopomich (Self-Reliance) — have supported the idea to maintain the majority.

"I don’t consider other variants of the coalition, even theoretically," Poroshenko noted, adding that he would hold a meeting with members of the parliamentary majority at an early date.

Last week, the Radical Party faction withdrew from the coalition and went into opposition.
