BEIRUT, August 18. /TASS/. Syria is dissatisfied with the remarks of the UN Secretary General’s envoy Staffan de Mistura on the bombing of the city of Douma near Damascus by the government air forces, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The document released by the SANA news agency on Tuesday says that the Italian diplomat who denounced the raids, "has abandoned impartiality, which he must observe as the UN Secretary-General’s envoy." De Mistura’s remarks are "biased and based on the inaccurate information spread by Syria’s enemies," the statement says.

"We want to hear from de Mistura condemnation of artillery bombardments by terrorist groups of Latakia, Daraa and Aleppo, a city that has been without electricity and water for a few weeks, as well as crimes committed by the gangs of Daesh [the Arabic name for the Islamic State group] and Jabhat al-Nursa," the statement of the Syrian Foreign Ministry says.

The UN envoy on Monday urged the parties to the conflict to immediately put an end to all acts of violence and begin the dialogue aimed at reaching a political solution to the crisis. He recalled that the use of "indiscriminate" weapons in residential quarters was prohibited by international humanitarian law.

The bridgehead of the Jaysh al-Islam armed group, which shelled the Syrian capital from mortar carrier vehicles on numerous occasions, is located in the city of Douma, 12 kilometers northeast of Damascus. The gunmen have occupied the city with a population of 800,000 people for more than three years. According to media reports, the Syrian aviation has carried out at least 10 air raids on Douma since Sunday, killing at least 96 people and injuring more than 250.
