MOSCOW, May 28. /TASS/. Ukraine’s deployment of heavy weapons, including artillery, in the vicinity of the line of disengagement in Donbas in fraught with further escalation of the conflict, Russian Permanent Representative at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Andrei Kelin said on Thursday.

"There is information about Ukrainian troops’ concentrating heavy weapons, including artillery, near the disengagement line," he said at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council. "The number of subversive acts and provocations is growing. Ukrainian forces are sensing defence of DPR and LPR (Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics) militias to find their sore points. It is fraught with escalation of the conflict."

The Russian diplomat said in this context that of serious concern was the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada’s (parliament) resolution on possible deviation from liabilities under the European Convention on Human Rights. "Isn’t it a preparation for a new round of tensions in southeastern Ukraine?"

"The United States and the European Union must exert their influence on Kiev to prevent escalation of tension in Donbas," he underscored.
