Countries that support IS conduct special training and logistical planning in order to send militants to Central Asia, to the Caucasus, to India as well as Europe, Iran’s Defense Minister says

MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. Countries supporting the Islamic State (IS) extremist organization may soon send militants to Central Asia, to the Caucasus and Europe, Iran’s Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan said on Thursday at the 4th Moscow Conference on International Security.

Western countries are trying to compensate for their military defeats by using the potential of terrorist groups, he noted.

"Today, I must say with enormous regret that the countries that support IS and other terrorist groups conduct special training and logistical planning in order to send militants to Central Asia, to the Caucasus, to India. Western China and Europe in the future," Dehghan said.

It may lead to a "military fire" in Central Asia and in the Caucasus, he added.

"Apart from the Taliban and al-Qaeda, we see the development of the situation with IS," the foreign minister said. "America’s news strategy and deliberate actions of a number of countries in the region show that there is a program for using the potential of terrorist groups to create political equilibrium in the issues of security and disrupting the geopolitics of the region," he added.

"These countries are trying to compensate for their military defeats by unleashing mediated wars and giving them ideological undertones," Dehghan said.

"I am warning you that indifference toward such behavior will lead to a tragic result," the Iranian minister said. "Independent countries should cooperate in creating a front of resistance," he added.

Iran calls on Russia, China, India to stand up against NATO expansion

Iranian Defense Minister said Iran calls on Russia, China and India to stand up together against the expansion of NATO eastwards and the setting up of the antiballistic missile system in Europe.

He said his country was ready to cooperate with China, Russia and India for counteracting the deployment of the ‘nuclear shield’ in Europe and to the larger concentrations of US forces in the areas adjoining China.

"My country and I are prepared to hold consultations in the sphere of cooperation on these issues," Dehghan said.

Saudi Arabia will not reach its 'illegitimate aims' in Yemen

Saudi Arabia will not reach its "illegitimate aims" in Yemen, Iran’s Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan said on Thursday at the 4th Moscow Conference on International Security.

"Saudi Arabia, after receiving ‘green light’ from US and Zionists for launching the operation in Yemen, will not only fail to reach its illegitimate aims, but will also create conditions for its own collapse," Dehghan said. "The fate of Iraq under Saddam Hussein will await them," he added.
