MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry’s convoy with humanitarian aid for Donbas has arrived at the state border, a spokesman for the ministry’s national crisis management center told TASS on Thursday.

Before the state border, the convoy was divided into two parts. "One arrived at the Matveyev Kurgan checkpoint, while the other at the Donetsk [checkpoint] where the customs and border control has already started. After its completion, the convoys will continue heading to Donetsk and Luhansk," the spokesman said.

Both Russian and Ukrainian customs officers and border guards are working at the two checkpoints. The representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) mission are present at the Donetsk checkpoint.

A total of 140 vehicles are carrying more than 1,600 tons of humanitarian aid to Donetsk and Luhansk. The aid mainly consists of seeds for spring field works — barley, corn and sunflower. The cargo also includes medicines and essentials.

This is the 22nd Emergencies Ministry’s convoy with aid for Donbas. Since mid-August 2014, more than 27,000 tons of humanitarian aid have been delivered to the affected region.
