BERLIN, March 24. /TASS/. A total of 67 German nationals are feared dead following the crash of an Airbus A320 in the French Alps, the CEO of Germanwings, the flight operator, said on Tuesday.

In all, the plane carried 150 people, including 144 passengers and six crew, mainly the nationals of Germany, Spain and Turkey.

According to German media, 16 schoolchildren could have been onboard the plane.

The plane en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf crashed in mountainous terrain in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, southern France.

Airbus said earlier it would send a group of technical experts to the crash site.
