It is very important that the people say their "yes" to the new Ukrainian constitution, Yatsenyuk told a meeting with the heads of regional administrations

KIEV, March 24. /TASS/. Ukraine needs a new constitution and its key provisions should be approved at an all-Ukrainian referendum, the country’s Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said on Tuesday.

"It is very important that the people say their "yes" to the new Ukrainian constitution," Yatsenyuk told a meeting with the heads of regional administrations. He said many issues will rely on the work with the regional administrations as part of the constitutional commission's activities.

The Ukrainian government is currently doing its "piece of work" in this issue as it is carrying out the budget decentralization, Yatsenyuk said. "Later the president, the government and the parliament, based on the will of the Ukrainian people, will write the new Ukrainian European constitution," he stressed.

The new Ukrainian constitution should regulate the issues of the balance of powers, the establishment of a "transparent judicial system and the system of the fight against corruption," he said.
