MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (SCTO) is ready to send its peacekeepers to Ukraine if necessary decisions are passed, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said on Thursday.

"We have peacekeeping potential. Our peacekeeping forces regularly undergo corresponding training. In case the United Nations passes a decision to this effect, we are ready to commission concrete units, Belarus’ BELTA news agency quoted him as saying.

He noted that peace keeping missions of any of CSTO member countries depended on the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council. "But only when it rules it expedient," he said.

At the same time, he said that such military political alliances as the SCTO and NATO should stand aloof from conflicts in those countries that are not members of these alliances. "We believ it is counterproductive," Bordyuzha said. "What is happening in Donbass is a Ukrainian domestic conflict. It should be settled first of all by the Ukrainian authorities and residents of Donbass, they must try to find common language, consensus, try to organize joint work. But I would like to repeat it once again: neither the CSTO collective forces, nor NATO’s potential can be used in these developments."

The idea of deploying peacekeeping forces in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine is actively advances by official Kiev. So, far no official decisions have been taken on this matter, since deployment of peacekeepers is beyond the Minsk agreements.
