US sanctions against Russia extended for one year

The sanctions were imposed due to the crisis in Ukraine
WASHINGTON, 4 March. /TASS/. US President Barack Obama has extended for one year a number of sanctions previously imposed on Russia in connection with the Ukrainian crisis, the White House press service reported on Tuesday. The sanctions that have been extended were imposed by the United States on Russia on March 6, 16, 20 and also December 19, 2014.
These sanctions affect a number of Russian citizens, including officials, as well as officials of the government of Ukraine’s former President Viktor Yanukovych. The measures also applied to a number of major Russian businessmen, several companies and the leadership of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and PLR) in eastern Ukraine.
