KIEV, February 13. /TASS/. Despite the accords on the implementation of the Minsk agreements, there is still a threat of further escalation of the conflict in Donbas, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Friday at a meeting with speaker of the Latvian parliament Inara Murniece.

According to the press service of the Ukrainian president, Poroshenko thanked Latvia for its "strong consolidated support to Ukraine" and informed Murniece about the results of the talks in Minsk.

The sides also discussed preparations of an Eastern Partnership summit due to be held in Riga in May 2015, which was expected to yield a decision on a visa-free travel regime for Ukraine.

"The introduction of a visa-free travel regime for Ukraine is a good example for other member countries of the Eastern Partnership," Poroshenko said.
