Moscow hopes 'Normandy format' summit to adopt important decisions
Attempts to make the issue of possible arms deliveries to the Ukrainian government will be unable to undermine the efforts to settle the Ukrainian crisis peacefully, Lavrov said
MUNICH, February 8. /TASS/. Moscow hopes important decisions will be taken at the forthcoming summit in the 'Normandy format', Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Sunday as he spoke to reporters in Munich.
"The efforts towards settling the Ukrainian crisis are being undertaken at the Russian President's initiative," he said. "The proposals the president sent several days ago to his counterparts were discussed on Friday in Moscow at a meeting with French President Francois Hollande and Germany's Federal Chancellor, Angela Merkel."
Lavrov stated the disapproving stance, which the majority of European politicians had taken on the prospects for lethal arms supplies to Ukraine.
