MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/. The foreign ministers of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine stressed the need to observe the silence regime in Ukraine on the results of the meeting in Berlin, according to a joint press statement placed on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website on Tuesday.
“The Foreign Ministers of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine, had a broad in-depth discussion on the political way ahead towards a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine and a possible summit meeting in Astana. The Ministers affirmed their strong commitment to a swift and comprehensive peaceful solution of the current crisis, including a sustainable political process,” the statement said.
“Ministers reconfirmed that the basis for conflict resolution are the Minsk agreements that have to be implemented by all sides in their entirety. They reiterated the necessity to fully respect the regime of quiet,” it said.
“Ministers call on the Contact group to meet in the coming days to make progress on the full implementation of the Minsk agreements, including the creation of the relevant conditions for an effective cease-fire, an agreement on modalities for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the continuation of the release of detainees,” the statement said.
“This would contribute to pave the way for the preparation of a successful summit meeting in Astana. They agreed that further work needs to be done to this end,” it said.
