QUITO, January 13. /TASS/. Events in France have reaffirmed once again the importance of deepening international cooperation in struggle with terrorism and extremism, Valentina Matviyenko, the speaker of the upper house of Russian parliament told a news conference on Tuesday at the end of the 23rd plenary session of the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum.
As she answered a question from TASS, she said international terrorism is one of the biggest threats of our times and none of the countries across the world have an ability to cope with it alone.
“You can fight with terrorism only by pooling efforts of the international community,” Matviyenko said. “Only then can you count on success.”
“The latest events in France have shown one more time it’s important to deepen antiterrorist cooperation between different countries, especially in what concern a timely exchange of information, as well as collaboration of law enforcers,” she said.
“Regardless of all, Russia hasn’t suspended antiterrorist cooperation with partners in the West or elsewhere for a single day and we’ll continue this work actively,” Matviyenko said.
