Search for crashed plane in Java Sea resumed despite bad weather
Apart from that, another group of divers will continue the search for flight recorders a signal from which was detected on Friday
SINGAPORE, January 10. /TASS/. Despite unfavourable weather conditions, divers resumed on Saturday the operation to lift the tail section of the AirAsia Flight QZ8501 that crashed in the Java Sea on December 28.
According to weather forecasts, there will be choppy wind, strong underwater currents and wave up to three metres high.
Apart from that, another group of divers will continue the search for flight recorders a signal from which was detected on Friday. Rescuers however say the black boxes are not inside the plane but obviously on the sea bottom. Fragments of the tail section are lying at a depth of 34-37 metres.
The AirAsia airliner A320-200 disappeared from radars on December 28 about 40 minutes after it had taken off from Indonesia to Singapore. The airliner presumably crashed near the Island of Kalimantan /Borneo/. The jet was carrying 155 passengers and seven crewmembers.
As of now, a total of 48 bodies from the crashed plane have been recovered.
