UNITED NATIONS, December 31. /TASS/. The UN Security Council has failed to vote in favor of a resolution on creating Palestinian state and ending the Israeli occupation.

The draft resolution had not received the support of 9 out of 15 member-states of the council. Australia and the United States, which has a veto right, voted against the document.

Eight countries including Russia, China and Jordan, backed the draft resolution. The United Kingdom, Lithuania, Nigeria, South Korea and Rwanda abstained.
