Sergey Lavrov also said the West connives with "the party of war" in Kiev and its is related to lustration and the economic blockade of Donbas

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s statements on giving up Ukraine’s non-aligned status, expelling Russia from the UN Security Council and similar statements are made as part of rhetoric by ‘a party of war’ in Kiev, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday.

Lavrov also reminded about the blockade of Ukraine's eastern regions, saying that too is a part of the party of war rhetoric.

"It is regretful because such a party exists and exactly from ranks of that ‘party of war’ calls are made to repeat in Ukraine's south-east an operation which was carried out in Serbian Krajina, when the issue was settled by force. All this was not only accepted, our Western partners welcomed this,” Lavrov said.

“I proceed from the assumption that the Ukrainian president consistently - and he repeated this again recently - calls for exclusively peaceful settlement of all issues related with the current situation in the country’s south-east,” the minister added.

“Peaceful way lays a basis for the Minsk peace deals that were reached at President Poroshenko’s initiative, with due account and on a basis of proposals put forward by President Putin. Everybody is saying in all sharps and flats that these Minsk peace deals should be fulfilled. Along with a ceasefire, prisoner exchange, security guarantees, amnesty, restoration of economic ties they plan the launch of a real nationwide dialogue with all regions and domestic political forces involved. I assume that if everybody supports the Minsk peace deals in their entire scope, it is needed to fulfil what is said and signed,” Lavrov added.

Sergey Lavrov also said the West connives with "the party of war" in Kiev and its is related to lustration and the economic blockade of Donbas.

“The West connives with 'the party of war' in Kiev at everything it is doing. This is related to silencing the law on lustration that the Venice Commission has criticized and the enlightened Europe and the USA keep silent, the economic blockade of Donbas and the investigation of crimes in Ukraine,” Lavrov said.
