Ukraine’s non-bloc status declared in 2010 has fallen short of expectations, according to Poroshenko, and he has decided to return Ukraine on the path of integration into the Euro-Atlantic space

WARSAW, December 17. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Wednesday he would submit a bill to the parliament to revoke Ukraine’s non-bloc status.

“We are doing all today to reform Ukraine to meet NATO standards,” he told a news conference in Warsaw.

“We have work to do on holding a referendum so that the Ukrainian people determine our development path,” he said. “I have no doubt that Poland will back us in that process,” Poroshenko said, noting that he would submit the bill upon return to Kiev.

“Ukraine’s non-bloc status declared in 2010 has fallen short of expectations,” he said. “I have decided today to return Ukraine on the path of integration into the Euro-Atlantic space,” he added.

Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament) has already registered several bills to this respect from different deputy groups.
