BERLIN, December 14. /TASS/. German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Sunday had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian and French Presidents, Petro Poroshenko and Francois Hollande, to discuss the situation in Ukraine, Angela Merkel's spokesman Steffen Seibert said.

Seibert cited President Poroshenko as saying that no casualties have been reported since December 9, when a ceasefire regime was imposed in eastern Ukraine. However, Poroshenko said this regime has been repeatedly violated. “The Chancellor and the two presidents share the same opinion that the Minsk agreements must remain as a basis for steps to improve the situation,” the spokesman said.
