According to the Red Cross, at least 22 people became victims of the typhoon Hagupit which had slammed into the central Philippines' east coast on December 6. Typhoon knocked out power in entire coastal provinces, mowed down trees and forced more than 1 million people to evacuate. Hagupit means "lash" in Filipino.
