MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Council of Europe Secretary-General Thorbjorn Jagland on Friday stressed the authority of the Council of Europe as an important instrument for developing European cooperation.

“We agree with the need of the authority of the Council of Europe as an important instrument for developing European cooperation — the unique organization, which ensures unity of legal and humanitarian space on the European continent,” Lavrov said.

He said these talks “were held in a constructive atmosphere”.
