Pyongyang ready for resuming six-party talks without preconditions — Lavrov

The message of Kim Jong-un to Russian President Vladimir Putin confirms the readiness to develop relations between Russia and North Korea, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said

MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. The DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) is ready to resumу the six-party talks on the basis of the earlier reached agreements, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday.

“We support such position,” he said after a meeting with Kim Jong-un's representative, member of the Politburo Presidium of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), chief of the WPK Secretariat Choe Ryong-hae.

The message of Kim Jong-un to Russian President Vladimir Putin confirms the readiness to develop relations between Russia and North Korea, Lavrov noted. “The negotiations were held in a constructive and business-like atmosphere,” Lavrov said.

Moscow opposes the misuse of current critical situation on the Korean peninsula for military preparations and exercises, Lavrov stressed.

North Korea may join several tripartite projects with South Korea, including on gas deliveries, Russia's foreign minister noted.
