CHISINAU, November 20. /TASS/. The sanctions the West imposed on Russia have brought no benefit to the European Union or Moldova and affected the countries that have close economic relations with Russia, Moldovan Vice Premier, Economy Minister Adrian Candu told TASS on Thursday.

“The government of Moldova is concerned over the so-called ‘sanctions war’ that has brought no benefit to the EU and our country. We live in a global world where everything is integrated. A blow to the Russian economy is a blow to Moldova and other countries that have close economic relations with Russians,” the vice premier said.

According to him, about 300,000 migrants from Moldova now work in Russia and get wages there. “Russia’s economy difficulties also affect them,” he said. These people annually transfer to their families in Moldova about 1 billion U.S. dollars. Experts say this money is a growth engine for the Moldovan economy.

“The geopolitical confrontation, Ukrainian conflict have caused serious economic problems that are first of all linked with instability and unpredictability,” Candu said.
