Ukraine president says Kiev intends to observe Minsk agreements
Poroshenko intends to halt hostilities, close the borders, free prisoners, terminate arms supplies to terrorists, start political talks and hold free elections in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions
CHISINAU, November 20. /TASS/. Ukraine will do everything to observer the Minsk agreements on the settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Thursday.
“Kiev will do everything possible for all parties to observe the Minsk agreements on the settlement of the conflict in south-eastern Ukraine,” he said at a meeting with his Moldovan and Polish counterparts, Nicolae Timofti and Bronislaw Komorowski.
“The Minsk agreements remain the basic principles for settling the conflict in Donbass that is why they should be observed,” Poroshenko said.
He reiterated the message about “the external aggression from Russia”. “In order to stop the war it is necessary to strictly comply with the agreements: to halt hostilities, close the borders, free prisoners, terminate arms supplies to terrorists, start political talks and hold free elections in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” Poroshenko said.
