GENEVA, November 20. /TASS/. The Office of the UN High Commissioner of Human Rights (OHCHR) called for peaceful settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. The OHCHR report based on monitoring mission materials encompassing a period of time from September 17 to October 31 was published on Thursday. This ‘survey’ is mainly based on the interpretation of events that Kiev gives.

The report voiced ‘concerns’ over reports on the use of cluster ammunition in 12 settlements. Although, according to a large amount of evidence, Ukrainian military used this ammunition, the report did not mention this evidence. The report authors did not leave unattended a resounding report about mass graves found near war-torn eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk on territories controlled by Ukrainian military forces. Experts said that the investigation should be continued and all measures should be taken to preserve evidence.

The report also included recommendations on Russian Republic of Crimea. The report said that the OHCHR continued to take Crimea as a part of Ukraine, ignoring referendum results and further reunification of the peninsula with Russia.

Previous OHCHR reports on Ukraine stirred up critical remarks in Moscow for double standards in assessments of the situation.
