German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier spoke about EU-Customs Union dialogue on Tuesday

MOSCOW, November 19. /TASS/. Hungary supports a policy aimed at dialogue between the European Union and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Wednesday after a meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto.

“One of the next practical steps as we see it is to start a professional, practical dialogue between structures of the European Union and the Customs Union, structures of the Eurasian Economic Union being formed,” Lavrov said.

“Yesterday, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier spoke about this; today, Mr. Szijjarto confirmed that Hungary supports that approach,” he said.

“As soon as we address specific economic tasks that will make it possible to solve issues of ensuring growth rates and increasing the economic welfare of the citizens of Russia and the European Union, ideology-driven approaches on the European agenda will have less significance,” Lavrov said.
