Ukrainian cabinet approves deal on border demarcation with Belarus
KIEV, November 12. /TASS/. The Ukrainian cabinet of ministers has approved an agreement on the provision on demarcation of the state border between Ukraine and Belarus, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said Wednesday after a cabinet meeting.
Klimkin said the deal “formalizes the key parameters of both the joint commission with Belarus and (border) signs that will be mounted.”
He said work to demarcate the border “is actually starting.” “We have already determined all sections, we are working with the Belarusian side and don’t waste time,” Klimkin said, adding that marking of terrain will start soon.
He said “the bulk of work” on state border demarcation should be carried out in 2015. The overall length of the Ukrainian-Belarusian state border totals 1,084 kilometers (674 miles).
